EC-OG, a leader in intelligent energy management and storage technologies for the energy industry, has made a series of new appointments to drive its ambitious growth plans.

Angus MacDonald has been appointed to the newly created role of workshop manager. Based at EC-OG’s manufacturing facility in Aberdeen, Angus will be responsible for all workshop operations and will oversee the scaling and expansion of the company’s battery manufacturing and testing facilities.

An experienced operations manager, Angus spent 11 years at Aker Solutions in roles such as manufacturing plant and services base manager where he played a vital part in the design and implementation of service workshops during Aker Solutions’ £8 million plant refurbishment. Before entering the energy industry, Angus worked for over two decades in the railway industry across various operational positions for British Rail and ScotRail.

Graceann Robertson takes on the role of marketing manager as the focal point for further developing EC-OG’s company image and managing product brands. Graceann will work closely with Paul Slorach, business development director, in the execution of EC-OG’s marketing strategy. After two years within the energy team of leading communications agency, BIG Partnership, Graceann returns to EC-OG where she was previously responsible for marketing activity over a three-year period.

“We are very pleased to welcome Angus and Graceann into these strategically important roles,” said Richard Knox, managing director at EC-OG. “As we scale up our operations in line with our ambitious global growth plans, Angus’ track record and expertise in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement will be of vital importance.”

“Working within our business development team, Graceann’s marketing and communications skills, along with her prior knowledge of our business will bring invaluable experience as we continue to target wider energy and blue economy markets across the globe.”

Designed for the harsh subsea environment, EC-OG’s Halo system is a modular and scalable battery storage solution and gateway for renewable energy to high value assets which provides a reliable, uninterrupted power supply predominantly for seabed use. The system can be used as a temporary, permanent, or back-up electrical power solution at a fraction of the cost of alternatives.
