This month EC-OG joins the Aberdeen Science Centre at the Celebrate Aberdeen event. The weekend-long event features a range of fun activities including its popular parade along Union Street and local music talent.  The weekend attracts over 130 diverse third sector organisations and supporting companies to celebrate the Aberdeen community and its positive cultural traits. The celebrations take place on the 26th and 27th of August at several city centre locations.

The event has been running since 2011, growing every year and this will be the second year EC-OG has been a part of the celebrations. The main ethos behind the event is to encourage community spirit and promote volunteering by bringing together over 3000 passionate attendees.

Morven McKenzie the founder of Celebrate Aberdeen said “It really is quite incredible and a truly wonderful experience. Each year we are touched by the number of people who want to get involved.”

At EC-OG we feel very passionate about showing our support for the local community and are proud of our involvement with Celebrate Aberdeen. We are also working alongside the Aberdeen Science Centre with the STEM Ambassadors programme and recently had representatives visit to discuss how the EC-OG team can get involved.
